The name is not an indicator of an alliance that became null and void, but of an alliance of the void. As in, the void and people in the nexus, allied together.

The choosing of the name is shrouded in much mystery and circumstance, but it basically encourages the meaning behind the words. VA was started by a group of people who were literally without clan allegiancies, and the first leader, Red Storm (hence the colors), was outright ostercized and hated by some. He was a man with no home, a man of the Void, so to speak. As were the other founding members. So it was an alliance between the people of the void.

Today, the name can be seen as both a homage to it's humble beginnings, a place for those that cannot find a home to come, and as our moniker for our futuristic paradigm. Today, we strive to unite under one banner the chaos of today's internet gaming world. We reach across the void spanning games, genres, countries, and age groups to form a cohesive whole of members. We promote and allow those membres to, themselves, venture out into the Void to add others to our ranks, and further spread our ideals - that people play games spanning genres and types, and that they would prefer to find a home in which to play all of them. We are an alliance of people who span those voids. Hence, the Void Alliance.
